GaeLupha is the name of the religious leader of the LahuSaeLa. He takes responsibility for leading ceremonies in the village. When the people in the village would like to have a ceremony in their family, like merit, giving food to the spirits in the house (the belief of the Lahu people), they have another assistant religious leader to come and chant in the house that is having the ceremony. When the chant is finished, the owner will bring GaeLuPha to the house with a sacrifice to chant again for Lahu goodness for the family that is having the ceremony. After GaeLuPha chants, the ceremony finishes. Another responsibility for GaeLuPha is the superintendent of JaKhue ground (the place where Lahu dances are held when the village has a festival or a religious day in the village).
